I think I’ve mentioned it before, but I spent seven years as a high school teacher before going on maternity leave with my daughter. As you may have guessed, I didn’t go back. There are days when I miss certain things about it, though. You know, like summer vacation. Haha! No, but really!
When I saw that a lot of my former students were upcoming seniors this year, I was excited about possibly getting to photograph their senior sessions. Nicole’s is the first one I’ve done this year from her school, and we have another coming up tomorrow. It was great to be able to catch up and hear about her plans for college. The last time I saw her she was just a high school freshman. How time flies!
I think it every time I do a senior session…these girls have SUCH AWESOME CLOTHES! It always makes me want to go on a mega-shopping spree and get new, cute stuff. Of course, that’s easier said than done when I’m 8 months pregnant. Soon. Soon, I plan to shop for fun & flirty new clothes for myself!
Nicole’s sister, Danielle, accompanied her & her mom during the session. HUGE thanks to her, because she was like an assistant to me in terms of checking Nicole’s hair and fixing any strays that may have gotten out of place. She may not be in high school yet, but I’m so hoping to do her senior session someday, too!
Gorgeous, right?!
If you’ve seen some of our senior sessions, you may have noticed we’re obsessed with light. Finding the perfect light is so easy in the summer. Well, except when these crazy Connecticut thunderstorms don’t ruin our plans! Luckily, nothing like that was happening on the day of Nicole’s session and we were able to grab these beach shots just before finishing.
Nicole,
I am honored you chose our studio for your senior photos, and it was awesome catching up with you and hearing about your plans for next year, college, and your future. I still can’t believe you’re going to be a SENIOR!
My absolute BEST WISHES for this upcoming year and college.
~Kathy (AKA, Mrs. Loiselle)
